From First Call to Dry Building

1

Call and describe the water

Tell us where the water is coming from, how long it has been running and which rooms are wet. If the source is still running and you can reach the shutoff safely, turn it off first.

2

We check how far it traveled

Moisture meters and a walk of the wet rooms show where the water went under flooring, behind base cabinets and up the drywall. Guessing from the visible wet patch misses most of it.

3

You approve the scope and price

Before anything is removed, Tucson Flood Restoration explains what can be dried in place, what has to come out and what the work costs. Photos and readings are taken as the job goes.

4

Drying is monitored until it is done

Equipment stays in place and readings are repeated until the materials are back to a normal dry level. Then you get the repair plan for what was removed.

Before the Crew Arrives

Stop the water if there is a valve you can reach without standing in it. In most Tucson homes the main shutoff is on the supply line where it enters the front of the house, often beside a hose bib or near the water softener loop in the garage, and there is also a meter box out by the street. If the water is coming from the roof during a storm, put buckets down and move what you can, but stay off ladders in the rain.

Keep away from standing water in any room where outlets, extension cords or an air handler are wet, and do not use the air conditioning if a drain backed up. Pick up rugs, lift curtains and get electronics off the floor if it is safe to do so. Photograph rooms before anything is moved.
